U-SYNC + Cubase: Nome II simple qs

Hello,

I'm trying to understand the setup of the nome II to understand if it would work for me.
Do I understand correctly, that the Nome II on mac in 2025, with Cubase, doesn't require any audio track / pulse anymore.
It's synching via USB and via the U-sync plugin, right?
And Cubase cannot be a slave, so cubase will be the master, and send the clock via USB to Nome II which will then send it to my external synth hardware, right?

All correct!

In reality, Cubase is the master and the Nome is following. But from a user's point of view, thanks to the bi-directional control, it feels like they are both following each other. You can change the tempo from Cubase or from the Nome, and you can start/stop from Cubase or from the Nome.
